New release........?

Hi the team !

I would have some news of you ...  Of course I saw the Project Tracker and the Gemini but I would like to have some real news to know what are you working on.

Do you found some problems? Are you waiting for DNN 5.0 to launch the Events 4.0.1.?

Thank you for your work and the time you give.

Best Regards,

Will

Re: New release........?

Hi Will,

You will have seen from the release tracker what state the module is in, and that it has finished the testing phase. A number of issues were highlighted, which are all marked in the tracker. However, as far as I am aware none of these are showstoppers for 4.0.1.

Some of the issues highlighted, the team has worked up fixes for. These are shown on Gemini, and are marked for a 4.0.2 release. Some other items are marked for 4.1.0 release, the biggest piece of work being XHTML compliance.

Note that a 4.0.2 release is not confirmed yet, but I would expect there to be a bug fix release prior to the next major release, since these small bugs have been found and can be fixed easily.

I am not aware of any delay for a DNN 5.0 launch.

In effect, you know pretty much as much as the team does. Gemini is kept very up to date, as to what the team is working on.

Cheers
Roger

Re: New release........?

So are we hours, days, weeks, or months away from the new release?

Mark - as is always the case for any release of DNN or it's modules, no-one is going to predict a date. In this matter, by looking at the Release Tracker, you have as much inf0rmation as the team. This is a relatively large module, with many changes from the previous release, so it is taking some time to go through the process. It has finished the testing phase, and I believe passed it. So I think it now has to go through dogfooding on dnn.com. I don't know how long that lasts for.

Sorry, I have nothing concrete to offer.

Roger
