Link to the details page.

Hi, first of all thank you for the great job on the events module.

In the event module settings, I have set "Disable Month View Cell Events". I use the small theme and it's perfect the way it looks. However, when the visitor clicks on the event's date, I would like to have the details page being opened instead of the same page being reloaded showing the event in a list format.

Thank you!

-
Ari

Re: Link to the details page.

Hi Ari,

Currently the module opens the 'Day ' view, because a day can contain multiple events, therefore you'd need to be able to identify which event to open. It could be possible to open a detail view if there is only one event on a day. If you'd like to raise this as an enhancement request on Gemini http://support.dotnetnuke.com then we can consider it for a future version.

Cheers
Roger

Requirements/Bugs - Submit them here - Gemini - Raise against project 'DNNP', and put 'Events' in the title.

Re: Link to the details page.

Hi Roger,

This is something I'm interested in too.  I see where you're coming from about more than one event on a particular day but the 'Day' view is opening within the small space that I have allocated for the small calendar view and is quite compressed because of that.  Would it be possible to have this open in a new page?

This is what I thought would happen with a link back.  Should I raise this as an enhancement request as well?

Thnx.,

Donald.

Re: Link to the details page.

Hi Donald,

I think you should just need to tick the 'Event Detail New Page' checkbox in Event Module Settings. If that doesn't work, then this should be raised as a bug.

Cheers
Roger

Re: Link to the details page.

Hi Roger,

I'm quite sure I've had the setting both ways, the event is from a sub-calendar (don't know if this makes a difference, I don't think it should) but it seems to do the same thing whether it's checked or not.  I'd provide a link but the site's not live yet and I'm just working on a sand-box environment on my laptop.

I'm new to DNN and didn't want to waste anyone's time if I'm just doing something wrong.  But what if I have more than one event from more than one sub-calendar?  Is the 'Event Detail New Page' checkbox intended to open a list of events on a new page or the details of a particular event?

I'll confirm about the checbox when I get home and raise a bug once I have.

Thanks for the quick response.

Donald.
