Events Module causes processor to peak

Hi

I installed 04.00.02 (RC2) on DNN 4.8.4 locally first then repeated on live and after adding a repeating weekly event, both instances caused the page to hang, the processor to peak and flat line until another page was clicked at which point it went back to normal.

The site is running URL master and page blaster so I'm not sure if that has an impact.

Steps to replicate:

  1. Set the default module view to be weekly (this didn't seem to work initially)
  2. Create a repeating weekly event with a description
  3. Click on the event detail
  4. Click return (processor maxes out)  There seemed to be a few ways to get it to hang.

This module has got great features, excellent work.

Adam

Thanks

Re: Events Module causes processor to peak

Can you give the details of the weekly (test) event? Do you start with a new module instance (add module to a new page)?

Re: Events Module causes processor to peak

Hi Ernest

Yes it was a fairly clean DNN install with only a couple of other modules installed. I created a new page and the events was the only module i placed on it. The new event created fine but i noticed the description was not always displaying in the tooltip. I tried to view the detail then click edit but it packed a sad and hung. The next time i clicked Return to the same effect.

I investigated further today and using Maxthon as a browser it just hangs however IE3 immediately came up with "Redirect Loop, Redirection limit for this URL exceeded.  Unable to load the requested page.  This may be caused by cookies that are blocked."

Which suggests well...a redirect loop i guess.

Does that help?

Adam

Re: Events Module causes processor to peak

I read that you use IE3. Please move to a current version of a browser: such as IE 6 or 7, before continuing testing.
