Permissions for Event non-Creator to Edit/Delete?

When a non-administrator on the site creates an event, there doesn't seem to be a way for another person to edit or delete that event - except if you're an administrator for the site. The security settings for the module defines edit privileges for the module for these people, but that just seems to allow them to work with their own events that are created.

Is there a way to allow a group of people to be able to edit/delete all events in a events' module?

Re: Permissions for Event non-Creator to Edit/Delete?

Hi Terry,

Assuming you are using version 4.0.1 or less, then you need to put the user in a role, and then give that role Moderator status via the Moderation Settings within the module. From version 4.0.2 this will be available via the permissions grid, in the same way you gave them Edit permissions.

Cheers
Roger

Events 4.0.2 - It's released !! - See the annoucement.
Requirements/Bugs - Submit them here - Gemini - Raise against project 'DNNP', and put 'Events' in the title.

Re: Permissions for Event non-Creator to Edit/Delete?

Thanks for the quick reply! I also found the same answer a few minutes ago on thread at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/20/threadid/231581/scope/posts/Default.aspx. Unfortunately I didn't find this in my initial searches on this forum. For the time being (with 4.0.1) it sounds like I can only delegate moderating to get this edit/delete feature to non-creator/non-admins to one group and not to multiple - right?

I also ran into a second problem when I set the moderator for an event module - the module disappeared from the page! I was referring to that original event module as a subcalendar from another page's event module - and it still lists the missing module's event, so it must be somewhere. Any hints on how to correct this new problem?

Thanks.

Re: Permissions for Event non-Creator to Edit/Delete?

Yep 1 role in 4.0.1. Multiple/per user in 4.0.2.

Log on as Host, and you should see the module an be able to reset permissions. This was one reason for going to the permissions grid, to resolve the complex code around security.

Cheers
Roger

Re: Permissions for Event non-Creator to Edit/Delete?

Hey Roger! Worked! Thanks!

I just noticed that my module listing on my DNN prod site states that 4.0.2 is available for upgrade and download. Your reply seemed to imply that 4.0.2 was not released yet. Can you enlighten?
