Events release 04.00.02 available!
Modified By Ernst Peter Tamminga on 9/7/2008 9:52:07 AM)

The Events module team is proud to announce the release of Events version 04.00.02. The objective of this release 04.00.02 was: fixing all reported bugs of the 04.00.01 release and adding some small enhancements. The result is a very stable usable Events module. For this version, 15 issues were solved:

BUG FIXES

EVT-7936 Fixed bug problem with calendars allocated to multiple master calendars. The number of rows returned now is equal to the correct number multiplied by the number of calendars the module is a sub-calendar to. This gave a problem in one set of cases: when retrieving data from EventsSignups
EVT-7948 Calculation and display of end time in Tooltip corrected
EVT-7968 HTML tags were being included in description sent to ISearchable. Solved.
EVT-7996 Fixed bug where Image URL fields are displayed in Add Events, when Display Image checkbox is unchecked. Also for Send Reminder.
EVT-8091 Fixed processing of currency for transmission to PayPal. Use '.' not ',' for decimal delimiters.
EVT-8108 Notifications (Reminders) wee not being sent to users who have subscribed to an event, despite the appropriate options being set in both the module and event settings. Fixed.
EVT-8119 Event enrollments were not being displayed for a calendars sub-calendars.
EVT-8126 Edit event: there was a misplacement of the collapsable section header of Reminder settings and Image settings. Fixed.
EVT-8156 In certain situations (IE7, Small Theme) the selected date wasn't passed to EventDay view. Fixed.

ENHANCEMENTS

EVT-7894 Security settings enhanced: Permissions Grid is used to select Moderator Role
EVT-7995 Changed True/False in My Enrollments view to a check box
EVT-8084 Events module is XHTML compliant, but depends on the DNN core for full compliancy
EVT-8109 Improved handling of enddate and endtime when editing events<

CHANGES

EVT-7666 Initial date is now based on user or module date/time, instead of server date/time
EVT-7993 List display: Removed confusion around the order of columns by replacing numbered columns in settings resx with names.

IMPORTANT KNOWN ISSUES/ANNOYANCES NOT SOLVED IN THIS VERSION

There remain a number of issues that are annoying, but not fit for solving in this version of the Events module, most notably:

EVT-3724 In the export to the desktop, DST not handled correctly. It was decided by the team that the Events module will wait until support for DST is implemented in the DNN core.

The downloads can be found on the Events Project page on DotNetNuke.com. The team would like to thank everyone who contributed to this release. It is nice to experience positive feedback on the work the we, DNN Event team volunteers, are carrying out.

What's next?

The team is prioritizing the issues for new releases. Not only for the next major release (04.01.00), but also for the releases after that one. The objective of the next release 04.01.00 will be flexibility in the display and design (templating, themes), easier distribution of events data (e.g. RSSFeeds). We will also improve the data and table structure as well, to enable enhancements now and in the future. Much of the work to be done is already being carried out. See the Gemini issue system for Project Events for a list of these issues for new releases.

Regards,
Ernst Peter
