Need help with Events module features

I need help making a decision on which calendar and events list module to use. I want to have a calendar and the events list on the same page, and have the list show the next 10 upcoming events.

I don't know which calendar I was using before, but the problem I had was that when one administrator created an event, nobody else could edit it. I want to avoid this.

Also, I need reoccuring events, but I would like to be able to change one instance of a reoccurring event without changing the rest of them (like if one is cancelled due to snow, or this month only we're meeting at a different location, etc.)

This is for a church website.

Thanks for any help.

~Bee

Re: Need help with Events module features

The newest dotnetnuke events module (download from www.dotnetnuke.com) works very well in setting up a calendar module with an associated events listing module. Once installed, add a copy of the module to your page (this will be the calendar). Under settings/Event Module Settings fill in your preferences for all but the event list settings - if you are using child calendars as well click the master event module checkbox and update. Add a second events module to your page again filling in your preferred settings but also under Event List Settings click the enable list mode checkbox and choose the name of your first module under Selected Events. The option to select how many upcoming events you wish to show is 2 settings down.

Good luck.

Re: Need help with Events module features

What about propagating events from a parent calendar to children calendars. So i could place events in the parent calendar and they would be placed in each child calendar....???
