Re: Turn off e-mail and name

This might be as a result of legacy code when there wasn't a Submited by name field attached to the feedback. You have two options here - try running a clean up script that removes the submitted by from the feedback table itself or see if you get the same issue when you drop a new version of the feedback module on a page and create new posts..

Re: Turn off e-mail and name

I've tried installing the latest version of the feedback module, on a fresh portal, and it still comes up with "submitted by drew" at the end of each post I make.  Unfortunately my level of noobyism means I'm unsure what a "clean up script" is, never mind how to write one!  Has anybody come up with a workround yout?  I've hunted through the various files associated with the feedback module, trying to find the part that actually creates the "submitted by" text each time.  I wouldn't mid if I could even just edit that, so that it had a few more white-spaces after the end of the text.

eg

if I send feedback of "I like pork pies" at the moment this is what I end up with

I like pork pies submitted by drew

I wouldn't mind If I could get either of the following options:

I like pork pies    :Submitted by Drew

or ideally...

I like pork pies

The basis of my site means that all users share one log in, there might be 25 people logged in all submitting comments regarding a conference.  I don't want "submitted by delegate" repeating each time somebody "speaks" as the results are going to be projected, and I need to keep the image clean.

Hope you can help.

Drew

Re: Turn off e-mail and name

Drew - sorry for the late response. I never got the notification that you'd posted on this thread...

Look at line 363 in feedback.ascx.vb and you'll see where this is being set... Additionally you can control this via the resource file without having to recompile the module itself too. If you look for a resource in feedback.ascx.resx called SubmittedBy you'll find the text we're using to create Submitted By... You can modify this in the resx file and this should change what is being saved to the field....
