New Feature Request
Modified By Will Strohl on 9/27/2006 8:55:56 AM)
It would be nice if there was a flag in the settings of the feedback module to not actually send the e-mail sent through a feedback form until the e-mail address is verified by e-mail like what is done for registering a new user account.  This would obviously only be necessary for non-registered users.

Like I said, a flag would be nice so that we can turn this feature off and on when we need to.  A second flag would be nice to enable and disable this feature for an entire portal, or just the current instance of the module.

[EDITED]
Since I am implementing DNN for an entire school district, we ran into an issue this past week where we found that the feedback form can be exploited to send out inappropriate e-mails.  We cannot have that.  For instance, the e-mail address can be spoofed to be sent from anyone and anything sent to a teacher or elected official would not be able to tracked back to an accountable e-mail sender.

Re: New Feature Request
I just put this in the Issue/Enhancement log.  At first, I couldn't figure out how to do this again until I finally READ the text that was staring me in the face.  Ugh!

It still would be nice to see if there are any others here that would like such a feature...

I agree that it should be optional.  I would envision each setting as being a checkbox.  One would be available to editors and "admins", and the other available to "hosts".

Re: New Feature Request

This might be implemented in an upcoming version. I have just finished wrapping up work on 4.4.1 and will see how to incorporate something like this in the next version.
