Having a textarea within the text/HTML module 

So I'm trying to have some sample code and would like to have it a "text area" (with the scroll bars, width and size etc.) as it makes it nice and easy to separate it from the rest of the page (it also creates a nice clean look also) though when I do this,  the module (or possibly the editor plays with the text that I have in the area (especially links, etc).

Any ideas how to work around this or another method of working on it?
