transferring portals from one installation to another is only supported via creating a template, transferring it and creating the new portal in the target installation based on it, but this still might require a lot of manual work, since all IDs are changed (which might affect internal links and references) and some settings as well as complete module might be missing, i.e. those, which do not support iPortable (Check this in Host:: Module Definition).
