Sorry Mitchel, but you are wrong, only responsibility for the module has been transferred to the core, represented by Shaun Walker.

Text/HTML has been converted to a WSP module, i.e. source code is always included (code behind in /desktopModules/HTML, for classes see /app_Code/HTML folder) and compiled on demand with the web site. This means any change in the contained .vb files is effective immediately.

Anyhow, the Text/HTML module is part of any .dnn installation package and will overwrite your changes, therefore I suggest to create a copy in a renamed folder, rename classes and module name, to create your own fork of this module.

Thanks Mitchel and Sebastian

Does that mean there is performance to gain or loose with this kind of compiling?

Re: Where is the compiled .dll file containing the code for the HtmlText module ?

I haven't seen either a gain or a loss - I have the sql server version which is using WSP (core included) and the oracle version which is a WAP module and both of them seem to be the same as far as performance goes...

Re: Where is the compiled .dll file containing the code for the HtmlText module ?

Sebastian,

Thanks for the clarification, I did not go digging and didn't notice that it was the cause of the change....it now explains why individuals have been unable to work with it from other WAP modules....
