editing rights and permissions

I have an HTML module on a page. When I give a roll the right to edit it from the module, they can only do very limited editing. The get a small text box to edit in but not the full editing that an Administrator gets.

If I assing that roll the right to edit the whole page, then they can do anything.

What is the correct way to give a user the right to edit the HTML, including addin images and full layout capabilities but not give him the right to do anything else on the page ?

thanks

Chris

Re: editing rights and permissions

Chris,

did you check the advanced editor options, maybe someone specified to hide all toolbars for all users?

Re: editing rights and permissions

They should be getting the full text editor.  Is there a radio button showing near the top thats says Plain Text/Rich Text? Make sure it is set to rich text.

JK.

Re: editing rights and permissions

Nope. There is nothing in advanced settings about 'hiding toolbar for all users' and I never get to the page that has the radio bullet with Plain or Rich Text.
The only checkbox under advanced settings is something about Tokens.

The only way a user can get the full editing capabilities as me, is if I assign them full editing rights to the PAGE and not only the module. But then they can screw with everything else on the page (and my clients will do that)

When using the HTML module I usually get a link on the bottom that says "Edit the HTML" but without giving a user full rights to the page, they do not get that. They just get a little square at the top with a pencil, which when you click, you can edit in plain text format. With no settings or options.

Any other ideas ?
