Tab ID changes when exporting the site 

Hi,

Can anyone help me to sort the problem i think most of us have in DNN.

Problem is we hardcoded tab id for certain links in the text/html module but i when i export the site to hosting server tab id changes so my links are getting broken.

please help me to sort out this issue.

IDs are always bount to a specific portal, so either you need another link method or move your portal instead of export/import.

How do you move a portal vs. import/export? Do you mean copy the db tables? What tables would be needed?

moving portal means moving the complete database and  installation folder in the files system.

What are the options for "use another link method"? Are you referring to something like HrefExchanger or other url rewriters like it? I've been using DNN for well over a year and still haven't figured out how durable these tabids are, so appreciate your suggesting anything better to consider! Thanks.
