HTML/ TEXT and STYLE.CSS File

Hello,

I need some help. I have added a html/text module and now I need to add a style.css file to it. I am using the lastest Version of DNN and also the lastedt version of this module. I tried to add the style.css via the editor when you choose a file ( i already uploaded the the .css file to my ddn folder), but it does not work.

When i try to add the link in the html code itself, it goes to the whole webpage instead of only to the module.

I wish I could use the .css file only to the module, so it does not mess up my whole webpage.

Any help is welcome.... here is my website www.thenet.com.br/portal and the page I am talking about is the HOME page

thanks

Re: HTML/ TEXT and STYLE.CSS File

When the text/HTML module is rendered it is a part of the page and if you add a CSS link to it, that will apply to ALL of the page, there is no way around that.

Your only real option would be to either A implement the content as static HTML and use the IFrame to display it (Not necessarily the best).  Or to B use explicit styles on the individual elements to override the page layout just for that specific instance.

So we can't apply css to one particular module on the page? How about a background image?  :)  I am trying to get fancy tonight and add a css box with the drop shadow and a touch of gradient to make my forms stand out. Originally, I was going to make a box with the gradient and shadow using PS, then try to figure out how to use the image as a background image for a module, but then found out you can do this more easily with css (and better than my hack PS skills, that's for sure).

In your opinion, what would be the best way for me to accomplish this?

Your best bet for something like that is to create a custom container.  You can specify the background for the container etc and then you should be able to get the desired effects.

Thanks, Mitchel! Having never played with skinning and containers and the like, I'll do so research and play around tonight.

I made a sweet graphic to use, but thought...given the different sizes of my forms, doing this in CSS would be the pareto optimal solution.  ;) I am assuming I can take one of the blank containers out there, apply css to it, name it something like 'drop_shadow,' install in my DNN installation, then apply to my form modules?
