module stopped working

Hi,

I'm experiencing problems with my Text/HTML module. I hade version 03.03.00 installed and I could use the module if I didn't go into "edit text" mode, I got a " The Runat attribute must have the value Server" error. Then I upgraded the module to the latest version and then I got some error with the dnn:toolbar.

At first I couln't upgrade and I had to remove the module (which made me lost all my data from the modules on all of my sites, bummer ) then to upgrade and I got the dnn:toolbar error. I'm back to being unable to edit the text which at least works a little but still isn't enough.

Please help me.

Re: module stopped working

Text/HTML 4.5.0 requires DNN 4.5.0 or later, Text/HTML 4.6.2 requires DNN 4.6.0 or later, Text/HTML 4.8.1 runs smoothly with DNN 4.8.0+

If you are using a version pre DNN 4.5.0, I suggest to upgrade it before upgrading Text/HTML module.

The editing error is caused by a security upgrade from Microsoft, which interferes with DNN versions pre 3.3.5/4.3.5.

Thank you for your fast and helpful reply. I've asked my host to upgrade my site (I can't do it by myself... )

Hi Sebastian

Do you know the kb article number of the security upgrade that causes the issue?

We are having this issue ever since we installed .net framework 3.5, service pack 1 for framework 2.0 and a bunch of other security upgrades. The network admin, for obvious security reasons, does not want to uninstall all the security updates. We want to specifically uninstall the security upgrade that causes this issue.

We have a planned upgrade for the DNN framework in a months time, but for now, we need an adhoc solution to the problem.

Thanks

Re: module stopped working

You might just fix the code in DNN if you can, I blogged about this way back when the updates hit.
