CSS additions not being detected

Hi,

I'm new to DNN so I'm probably missing something obvious. I added some CSS to the Stylesheet via the Admin/Site Settings/Stylesheet editor but cannot see them when I open an HTML/Text module for editing.

I expected to see them either in the Style or format dropdown but nothing! Actually I do not even see the styles that are defined in the original stylesheet.. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance

Re: CSS additions not being detected

Jim,

From my experience you should see those settings reflected after you update the file through the editor.

Perhaps you can take a look at the CSS with a tool like firebug and see if perhaps the styles you added are being overriden.

Take care,

Ian

Re: CSS additions not being detected

Ian,

Thanks for this. I've looked at the CSS file contents that I added; I used MS VS2008 and they seem to be fine.

I'm also a bit bemused as to why I do not see any of the syles that are already in the default css stylesheet!  In the syle dropdown I only see the 5 default syles and under  format I only see 4 plus the 6 Heading variants.

Could it be to do with the DNN release I'm using (4.8.0)?

Thanks in advance.

Re: CSS additions not being detected

Ian,

I've just tried the CSS additions in a previous version of DNN (4.5.3) and it works fine so presumably something went wrong with my installation or there is a problem with 4.8 but thanks again for your input - helped me think I wasn't missing the blindingly obvious, after all!

Hey Jim,

I spent some time trying to figure out the details and wasn't able to come up with a satisfying answer - but after thinking about it some more - I realized my last answer was a little bit off base (i thought you were not seeing the styles reflected when the page was rendered...) and that it's probably just an issue with the FCK Editor itself (which is what is used for Text/HTML module).

I'm curious to know why it works in the other version of DNN you are using, because it should still be FCK Editor in 4.5.3.....

In summary, I don't think FCK Editor currently provides this functionality, but I wasn't able to come up with much detail!

Take care,

Ian
