How to create a link to a module

First of all, my excuses if this is already been answered, by a have searched a lot and I didn't find it.

I've got 2 HTML/TEXT  modules on a page. First module content is so large, that I need to create a link to jump to second directly. I haven't seen how to do it. I've inspected the Insert/Edit link propierties and there's no "module" target defined.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Esteve.

Re: How to create a link to a module

currently there is no support for adding links to modules (or into modules, e.g. to single post in a forum) . A simple option on the same page is using an Anchor and jumping to it, if the target is on a different page, you can only create a manual link using an anchor tag as well.

Re: How to create a link to a module

While Sebastian is correct that linking to a specific module isn't something that is part of DNN, you don't need to manually create a named anchor.

Access the settings (or edit mode) of the module you want to jump to.  In the address bar, locate the moduleid value.

That is the URL you would link to.

For example:  <a href="#381">Procedures</a>

Re: How to create a link to a module

Thanks Mike, but I didn't quite understand what you said. My module address is: http://localhost/dotnetnuke/3stepprocess/Askwhatyouwant/tabid/100/ctl/GenerateXsl/mid/449/Edit/Current/Default.aspx

So, how would the link to it be?

Thanks.

Re: How to create a link to a module

WOW! Thanks Mike Riley, I actually got it to work for me for linking to three different modules. Thanks so much.

I think what Mike R is saying is that you would find the moduleid (mid) number of the desired module (I did it by looking at the URL when I had that module in Edit Text mode) and then go back to the text where you wish to place the link and select URL as the type of hyperlink and then <other> as the Protocol and enter #449, for example, in the URL box if you wished to link to that module on that page.  HTH
