Where is the compiled .dll file containing the code for the HtmlText module that I am trying to replace in my trials to investigate the code?
This is a clean installation but I cannot track the .dll file? Am I blind?

The code for the Text/HTML module is included as part of the core now.  in 4.6.0 if I recall correctly it was removed from an external .dll and moved inside the DotNetNuke assembly.

Then this means it is very hard to modify it and keep up to date with the new updates of the core? I 'd just like to render/compile it to be able to break and investigate the sourcecode and how it is done to reuse code into my own modules .... then the best way is to install the dotnetnuke whole sourcecode and there compile it and see it running.  But if I want to use my own compiled HtmlText module what options do I have?

Depending on your needs, you might want to simply use the "TextEditor" user control that is found under the /controls/ folder of your DotNetNuke installation.

That control simply provides your module with the rich text editor and you can then do as you please with it!

Is there a way to override the functions inside the HtmlTexteditor functions compiled into the main DotnetNuke.dll?
