Display on All Pages / Container bug?

Hello --

I added a HTML module to bottom of my site, which I plan on using for ads, logos and text.  This module is configured to Display on All Pages and has a special container defined.  I've noticed that whenever I change the container the changes aren't reflected on all other pages on the site even though "Display on All Pages" has been checked.

If I uncheck "Display on All Pages" then recheck it again and save the correct container is displayed.  Is this a bug?  Has it been reported?

Thanx!

Re: Display on All Pages / Container bug?

no, this is not a bug, though it might not be intuitive: page settings are applied to the current instance per page only, if you want to apply them for all page references of your module, you need to use your workaround.

Re: Display on All Pages / Container bug?

Is there any way of getting this addressed in a future release?  It seems like a bug.

You might add this as a task into the public issue tracker at support.dotnetnuke.com.

Re: Display on All Pages / Container bug?

I actually think it's a good feature to be able to display the same information on different pages using different containers, module titles, etc. It means you can make the content look and feel different and give it a different title to appeal to different audiences on different pages.

For what it's worth I don't think removing this flexibility is an improvement to DNN when the workaround is pretty simple. Food for thought.
