IFrame and "post" method

Hello -

I am using the IFrame in our portal, trying to access our external Help Desk.  I have the url pointing to the Help Desk and upon load, the login for the Help Desk appears - good so far.

When I enter a user name and password and press submit it resets the page, and login pages is still displayed.  But if I enter an incorrect value - it will reply with display Invalid user or password(which is normal). I can not get past the login screen when using a valid ID/Pass.

The login page uses a "post" method for username and password.

Any ideas on why it wont login?

Blaine

Re: IFrame and "post" method

I'm not sure if this is an exact scenario as what you are experiencing and maybe someone else might know the reason. But I was trying to do something similar, I was trying to set a cookie to be read by the target. Even on the same domain with the domain attribute set I was unable to read it. Doing some testing I basically found out that in the IFrame cookies were unreadable (ASP session variables as well). Once I determined it wasn't going to work I went on an alternative route specific to my site I was linking too.

If I recall it just boils down to browser security and the IFrame. Perhaps you can setup cookieless authentication on the help desk app?

Re: IFrame and "post" method
Try something for me: Create a blank HTML document and add the following to it...

<iframe src="http://google.com" height="800" width="1000">

Replace the URL with the URL of your HelpDesk. See if you can login with this. If you can, then it might be an issue with the IFrame Module; if not, it's an issue with the Help Desk site or the way the browser handles the <iframe> tag.

What u suggested was really a success..! Internet security will take a major role.. as a solution what have to be done is make the Intranet Security setting for low , it will display the contents

Re: IFrame and "post" method
I have a similar problem.  I'm using the Liberium help desk, hosted internally and after upgrading to DNN v4.3.3 from v4.3.1 I can no longer log into the help desk through IFrame on IE only.  Firefox still works fine.  The page displays but when the username and password for the help desk are entered it just goes back to the blank login page.  It does dislplay "Invalid username or password" when that actually is the case.
