Re: Advice on mp3 players (ie. XSPF)

I also struggled with the same issues.  I was trying to do exactly what Katherine was doing for a band site.   After trying the Flash Player that Katherine recommended (but had implementation issues) I finally found a great, affordable DNN module on Snowcovered from Smoke Ranch Media.  Here is the URL on Snowcovered:  http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=267&PackageID=7315

Easy, very versatile, nice looking, just what I needed.  It has the voting capability that Katherine put in, but I am not using that.  You can see it in action on my site at http://sidetrackjazz.com/dnn/HearSideTrack/tabid/55/Default.aspx

Good luck.

Re: Advice on mp3 players (ie. XSPF)

Hi there,

I am in the endstage of building my MP3 manager.

This is a DNN module based on the MP3 flashplayer with the XSPF filelist. Your (registered) users just upload their MP3 files within the module, and the rest goes on its own... The playlist is constructed based on the portalID, ModuleID and userID and linked to the flashplayer. The content of the MP3 directory where the MP3 files are placed is the base for the playlist. So, in effect, every user can create his or her private playlist. This list is therefore presented to the owner only. There is also one special playlist witch is set to the administrator. This is the playlist for your anonymous guestvisitors.

MP3 files can be uploaded individually or compressed within a ZIP file, and these can be uploaded randomly. The module takes care of the unzip proces and placement in the correct directory. More functionality is to come, but first I want to get this basemodule to work....

Please let me know if some of you guys (and girls) are interested in taking a test on this module and let me know about your findings.

The module is developed in DNN 3 for now. As soon as the tests are done and no errors or problems are left, I'll go for the DNN 4 version.

You can have a sneaky peek at my developmentserver where this module is working in its raw form....... (lots have to be done still....)

Can you be more specific please. Did you have problems with downloading or with installing? What files were missing?
