Re: PDFs Do Not Open In Browser

I have been having the same problem. The solution was to set up the links in a Text/HTML module instead of a Links module.

Re: PDFs Do Not Open In Browser

I have the same problem. Although we would prefer to use the links module.
Is this something that will be fixed in future updates? If so, when?

Re: PDFs Do Not Open In Browser

This is not an issue with the links module. This is an issue with a core control that is used within the links module or for any module that uses the URLControl from the core.

The solution has been outlined in this thread as well as many other threads in the links forum. If you want to use PDF, place it in a directory on your site that is not controled via DNN, e.g. do not upload it to the file repository inside of DNN. Then when you create a link, make it an http link to an external site and give it the fully qualified URL to that file, e.g. www.mysite.com/pdfs/my.pdf. This will now treat it properly.

Re: PDFs Do Not Open In Browser

I understand this solution.... I'm wondering if this is a temporary fix that will be resolved in an update, or is this THE solution and I shouldn't expect it to be fixed.

Thanks.
