Links Mod --Value Cannot Be Null. This is driving me nuts.

It seems the links module isn't behaving properly.

Here's the hated, yet familiar error message that envokes emotions I shall not relate here:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: connectionString ---> System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: connectionString at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, String spName, Object[] parameterValues) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Links.SqlDataProvider.GetLinks(Int32 ModuleId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Links.LinkController.GetLinks(Int32 ModuleId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Links.Links.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I have uninstalled the site, database, project and reinstalled. Double checked the connection string, scoured the web, and no joy. Phooey, I say.

I have deleted the element, reinstalled it, same issue. cursed ... Deleted the entire module, reinstalled.. more profanity ... etc ...

New 4.7 install. SQL 2k5, Win Server 2k3, IIS 6.0, will be happy to post any other relevent info including my blood type if necessary.

If you can provide any insight I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Marc,

Please see this blog post: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/1081/Default.aspx

Follow the scripts or compare the ones in the DB with what will be modified. It should fix your issue.

It doesn't look like it is my issue, but I will investigate...

Re: Links Mod --Value Cannot Be Null. This is driving me nuts.

It appears to me that that post is regarding an upgrade.

Would this pertain to a clean install?

If that is not odd enough, I have another installation that is using the same db/server/build etc that went up without a hitch.

Suggestions?
