Re: Links Module , Cannot remove link.

it looks like the SQL script has not been executed correctly, though I cannot find an issue in it. To solve your problems, extract Links_3.3.zip from install package and extract the two .sqldataprovider files from inside. Log in as host, copy content from 03.01.00.sqldataprovider into the text box inside host >> sql menu item. check "run script" end hit execute. do the same with 03.03.00.sqldataprovider.

If both execute without issues, your problem shall be solved.

Re: Links Module , Cannot remove link.

Hi Sebastian

I tried to install the module again from the DNN 4.3.5 installation file, and from a new download, both under full and medium trust. Made no difference.

I then examined 03.01.00.sqldataprovider and 03.03.00.sqldataprovider.

Both files have the same code to create the same stored procedures (in name anyway, code inside procedure may/may not be different), however 03.03.00.sqldataprovider is missing:

create procedure {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}DeleteLink

@ItemId int

as

delete
from {objectQualifier}Links
where  ItemId = @ItemId

GO

So the problem is one or both of the below perhaps?

a) When installing the module in DNN 4.3.5 the 03.01.00.SqlDataProvider does not get executed.
b) The code above is missing from the 03.03.00.SqlDataProvider script.

Do you think it's a, b or both? Should I log this in Gemini as a bug?

Either way your solution worked of course!

Many Thanks!

Alex

Well might as well promo one of my DNN sites as I'm here: http://www.snasty.co.uk

Re: Links Module , Cannot remove link.

Alex,

run the code manually from Host >> SQL, I am not sure, why it has been omitted in your installation.

AFAIK, the Links team should be aware of this issue.

Re: Links Module , Cannot remove link.
Sorry for not responding sooner everyone. I will log this a a bug in Gemini. I am not sure why this has not been reported before or seen by more people until now. I'll give you a report in the morning on what I find out. If I can confirm the problem, I will fix and re-add the Links Module to the release tracker.
