News Feeds : error / proxy settings
Hi,
I'm trying to set up the News Feeds module on a DNN 3.3.7 portal but I get the error : "Could Not Connect To http://www.lemonde.fr/rss/sequence/0,2-3208,1-0,0.xml. You Should Verify The Source Address Is Valid And That Your Hosting Provider Has Configured Their Proxy Server Settings Correctly."

The thread on the forum . I changed the level of trust from Medium to High as I read in the forum but nothing happen. My question: Is this version of the module working only on DNN 4.x?

If not, what else can I do?

kd

Re: News Feeds : error / proxy settings

I m getting the same problem except that I m pulling from the blog RSS.

To replicate my problem...

1. I install a news feeds module and pull from Blog RSS

2. I install a second news feeds module on Another page and pulling from the Same Blog RSS.

Same error here.... there has to be some kind of resolution to this. It's sad that the RSS module doesn't work for DNN's own feeds??? Something has to give here...

Re: News Feeds : error / proxy settings

Hi There,

My news feeds worked fine in 4.6 until I upgraded to 4.7 yesterday; now none of them work and depending upon the module, they display one of these messages:

The default DNN module complains, even though the address is valid, that:

Could Not Connect To http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/rss?p=alaska&ei=UTF-8&fl=0&x=wrt. You Should Verify The Source Address Is Valid And That Your Hosting Provider Has Configured Their Proxy Server Settings Correctly.

My TotallyFabricated NewsReader module, which worked fine in 4.6, now fails to display a valid newsfeed, too, but complains with a different message:

News Feed Is Not Available At This Time. Error message: The remote server returned an error: (999) Unable to process request at this time -- error 999.

Does anyone have a solution for this or any suggestions yet?

Thanks,

Bill

Thanks, Bill
