Re: News Feeds : error / proxy settings

Had the same issue. After some searching on the net, I found that Yahoo is keeping track of your IP and blocking you if your bandwidth is exceeded. It appears to have nothing to do with dotnetnuke.

Re: News Feeds : error / proxy settings

Any updates on this, I have about 20 sites on 3 different servers that are affected and clients are starting to get upset.  Someone needs to step up and solve this.

Re: News Feeds : error / proxy settings

Same problem here in 4.8

Could Not Connect To "/////"". You Should Verify The Source Address Is Valid And That Your Hosting Provider Has Configured Their Proxy Server Settings Correctly.

I know that the source address is fine, why then,,, can someone solve this!

Does anyone know how to resolve this? re: News Feeds : error / proxy settings

Hello,

As a relative newbie to DNN, I figured I had done something wrong with the News Feeds module when I got this error. I checked and rechecked my news feed from google, I checked the online DNN help which didn't elaborate much. It was only when I searched the forums here that I find out that this problem was reported originally back in November 2007, and there doesn't appear to be any resolution or workaround to the issue. (I'm using DNN 4.8.2)

If it's still a problem, did everyone remove the News Feed Module(s) from their websites, or what?

As Lead on the project Peter can you help out?

Thank you,

Jack

Ditto..  Ditto....Ditto..  Ditto....Ditto..  Ditto....Ditto..  Ditto....Ditto..  Ditto....Ditto..  Ditto....Ditto..  Ditto....Ditto..  Ditto....

I need to do a proof of concept between DotNetNuke and Liferay...  currently our customer is using Liferay with a workable News Feed.  I have spent all day on trying to get a news feed to work....   Operating system Vista also XP(same result), IIS7....

Is someone reviewing this forum?    If it is an issue and currently unresolved, I would like to know so I can quit my proof of concept.

Thank you

Finny
