templates: ability to download images

Our goal is to have two repository instances on the same page, one for images and one for "other" files.

The filelist template is perfect for this second instance.

For the first instance, the filelist template would be fine if we could display a thumbnail based on the "file" rather than the "image"

An alternative is the portfolio template, which uploads images and displays the thumbnail, but unfortuanely does not include the ability to download the image.

Any recommendations?  (btw - love your work)

Re: templates: ability to download images

What do you mean by "thumbnail based on the file rather on the image" ??
Currently, the small icon is displayed differently if it is a PDF file, or word, or image, etc....

Re: templates: ability to download images
A repository upload entry consists of either:
1) file (see filelist template)
2) an image file (see portfolio template)
3)a file and an image file (see default template)
The thumbnail is only generated by the uploading of a image file.

We want to:
1) upload and image file (like portfolio template)
2) display its thumbnail (like portfolio template and default template)
3) download the image file (no templates support this)

Re: templates: ability to download images

easiest way ..

add a [FILE] token to the form.html file
add a [DOWNLOAD] token to the template.html file

When you upload an item, upload the same image file in both the FILE and IMAGE upload fields, that way the user will see the thumbnail and clicking on the download link will download the image

Re: templates: ability to download images

Thanks for the response, Steve

This is the solution I came up with as well.

We were hoping there was some way to implement the upload so that the user would only have to browse for the file once rather than twice (once for the FILE token and once for the IMAGE token).

Can you think of any way for one UI input to result in two file saves (FILE and IMAGE)?

Phil
