Can I do this?

Hey, guys.  I run a transcription business and currently use a file sharing site called Box.net.  I am now building my own site and want to run the file storage/sharing from my site as opposed to Box.net.  I want each of my transcriptionist to have their own folder where they can go to download whatever files I put into their folder.

I've been playing with the repository module for a while and reading the forum and don't feel like I'm getting anywhere.  I am in dire need of help and would be willing to pay for it.  I just need to get it done as soon as possible.

The first problem that I'm running into is the fact that the files that I'm normally sharing are upwards of 100-200 mbs.  They are pretty large digital recordings.

If you can help me out here, or would like to work on the project for me, please let me know.   In case you need to know, I want to have capabilities similar to box.net.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Re: Can I do this?

Good luck with your project. I think the repository would work well with it.

The problem with the large files is that by default the web.config is set to only allow files up to 8 MB in size. There's a pinned post at the top of the forum on what you need to change in your web.config to allow larger files.

Re: Can I do this?

Thanks for the response, Mike.  I did see that and followed those directions.  I tried to change it to allow me to upload 100mb files.  I have so far still been unsuccessful at getting the files to upload.  I'm 100% positive that I'm doing something wrong.  I just can't figure out what it is yet.

Re: Can I do this?

100 MB is definately much to big for plain http uploads, which will time out. You should check for a specific upload component.

Re: Can I do this?

I'm sorry to sound ignorant on this, Sebastian, but what do you mean by a "specific upload component"?  Are you referring to an outside program?  If so, how do I get an outside program to work hand-in-hand with DNN?

Thanks in advance.
