Upgrading to 03.05.00 from 03.04.00
Modified By ajsansone on 7/6/2008 1:08:05 PM)

Hi UDT Team,

Does the UDT version 03.05.00 allow the admin to limit the number of records a registered user can add?

Can you tell me the easiest way to upgrade to version 03.05.00 from 03.04.00? Because I already have some UDT records in my database, I don't want to risk losing what my users have already added to my website.

Re: Upgrading to 03.05.00 from 03.04.00

Hi AJS,

Rcord Quota (limiting the number of records per user) has been added in version 3.5.1, which also fixes an encoding issue for fields of type HTML Text, which has been discovered for UDT 3.5.0, therefore, if you are using HTML columns, please wait for 3.5.1

To  install a new module version, download the package, login as superuser ("host"), go to Module definitions in Host menu and choose "Install New Module" command. browse for your local package file and click install. verify that there is no issue in the upgrade log.

Do all the settings change to default after upgrade? Do the extra xsl files I have created with UDT get deleted if I upgrade?

The settings are not altered during upgrade, and they don't default after. Custom XSL files are stored inside the current portal, not beside the module itself. Installation never touches files inside a portal. Even new xsl files at desktopmodules/userdefinedtable/xslfiles are neither touched nor deleted.
