Time format Error

I have created a column for start time with the Time option as format.  Whenever I enter the Time in a way that the table will allow updating (10:00 am), I get an error that the module is not available.  Is there an issue with the Time format? - I want to be able to sort my table by start time.  Entering as text does not allow me to do this, entering as integer will not accept AM/PM, Date and Time is not an option as I do not want a date in this column.  Has anyone else had this error or know of any work arounds.  I did notice that the first time I changed this column from Text to Time, I had an error message stating that Time was not supported. After that, I deleted and recreated the column without any error messages until I enter a time in the column and update the record.
