Re: Can UDT do this...

Hi Rob,

I agree, that the user selection does not have a satisfying UI, but we are using simply core URLControl, which needs to be enhanced (or replaced).

Regarding your filter statement, the place is correct, but i have to admit, that I did not realize in my previous post, that this property is available in the core TokenReplace only, while UDT is using it's own version for backwards compatibility and this token has not been implemented in UDT, I apologize. The next version called "forms and Lists" will use core TokenReplace and support this property.

Re: Can UDT do this...

Thanks for the reply and clarification Sebastian.

Looks like I'm on a module hunt again.. pooh! :(

I'll start asking around again,, it has been very hard to find a module that can do this.

Regards,
Rob

Re: Can UDT do this...

Rob, if you want where admin can log in and edit data but only a specified user only see's thier data, thee are a few tricks that can be done. but these would only apply to view only from the user, but i suppose other options could be added if needed.

Let me and i am happy to share what back door tricks i have found.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for the offer of assistance, however I have now found out that an additional function is required by the person I wanted to make this happen for.

He has an external offline application where he manages the data and that app can spit it all out as a csv. He wants to be able to upload that CSV directly into the website and have it display the data per user. The users would of course be created with usernames to match the ID's they have in the CSV.

So really it could be fairly straightforward for someone who knows all the SQL bit, but I'm concerned that it needs to be done in a form that can be managed by the person with basic edit rights. If there's any way you or anyone here knows how to achieve this sort of thing I'd be real keen to know.

I'm going to have another browse around snowcovered and see if I can come up with some sort of import & display module.

Rob

edit: I think I've found the type of module that is designed to do this sort of thing... I'll keep looking, but this one sounds like it
