Filtering Data using dropdown list

i m using UDT 3.5.1 for developing catagory based database... & i hv 17000 rows of data in excel...

database contains normal information of persons profile like name, address, email, mobile, web, & last professional...i.e. my catagory & i want to search / filtered the data using dropdown list of profession (catagory).

i m able to create the table in UDT & i can able to insert d data but i hv two problems

1. how to import 17000 excel data to sql server 2000 ..i tried copy manually but the problem is data stored in database vertically not column vise

2. how to insert dropdown list menu (catagory) to filter data to show result

i tried forum & cum to know that it is possible using Advancedtable.xsl...but i cant figured out how cuz i m not from programming background.

1. Only way is by converting your data into a UDT compatible XML File.
2. You need some XSL skills for this.
3. UDT was not designed to work against 17.000 records

I suggest that I would need up to 4h for such a task. I have written a converter which transforms CSV Files to UDT Import File  It is not stable enough to for a public release, and it only supports strings. For example DateTime values need to be handled manually. Second importing of large documents fails, it simply times out (work araound: enable debug mode in web.config).

Send me an email if you need external help, this is out of the scope of normal help inside forums.
