 Yes I tryed installing it on Vista and it fail miserably. Only one of the items on the installer list would install all the others would fail. I also tryed to manully install them to the folder and it still failed. I tryed this first on a 2003 server with 2005 visual studio express and IIS 6.0 and all the current update, I work for a day and a half and finally got it to install afer creating the project type folders. Then it would I got error when trying to run it. I also order a book for DotNetNuke and now I am sorry I did because if this is that hard to install and get up running I am not sure I want to spend any more time on this but I am not one to give up.

Is there a way to install this without the install and get everything that is in the startekit ?

Did you turn off UAC?
