Post install?

Hello,

I'm new to dnn and I was happy to see there is and installer that work.

But some things are not working/configured:

When I try to do a "search" on my site, I've got:

"A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

When I try to edit a link:

"An error has occurred.
Error: Edit Links is currently unavailable."

When I try to view Site log:

"Your Hosting Provider Has Disabled the Site Log History Feature For Your Portal."

Regarding email notification where do I configure my email relay?

How can I make those things work or how can I configure them? Is there some docs I've missed? If yes which one?

Thank in advance.

Re: Post install?

Hi There and sorry for the late reply.

We are actually in the middle of re-vamping the installer utility to enable it to install any version of DNN out-of the box.

As per the errors you are receiving... did you upgrade or did you do a fresh install?

The Email settings are configurable in the HOST >> Host Settings section of the site.

Let me know...

Re: Post install?

The search might be due to the search not yet being populated.  You might want to check the schedule to ensure that the search task is scheduled.  (Host -> Schedule)

Your edit links error, you might have a look at the log viewer (Admin -> Log Viewer) and see if a detailed error exists.  If not you might want to double check that you set both connection string properties if using DNN 4.x

Your site log error is due to the "site log history" value in Host Settings is set to 0.
