animated avatars in forums

For some reason, any animated gif avatars I have in place on the forum will not animate.  Does anyone know why this would happen or if there is a resolution to animate these avatars?

Re: animated avatars in forums

No real resolution unless you upload the images directoy outside of the module. The image class used to generate the avatars isn't that 'smart'. I had it working w/ animated gifs before but ran into issues with quality for all avatars w/ this on.

Re: animated avatars in forums

Do we have the ability to install a new provider that does handle animated images correctly?  It seems to work for the additional system avatars, but not for the user avatars.

Re: animated avatars in forums

What are users allowed to upload for an avatar?  I've had trouble with both animated gif and png files using transparency.

Animated Avatars are not supportrd.  For the transparenccy images enable the png fix in the General Settiings.  What's needed to setting up Avatars read in the Manual V. 4.4.4 on page 22.
