Post and rights errors

I am getting this error when trying to start a new thread:

An error has occurred.
Error: Add/Edit Post is currently unavailable.

Maybe this has to do with the below:

When setting up the page and forum module I deselected "inherit permissions from page" on the forum module settings, but when I go to Admin and try to set the permissions any particular forum, all the check boxes except "view forum" are grayed out/disabled. All forums are Public with no moderation.

I am using DNN 4.8.3

Please advise. Thanks!

Re: Post and rights errors
  1. I think this issue is serveral times handled in this forum.  If Iam right it is a Forum how was upgraded from 3.x version. Then the Iupgradeable was not running on the upgrade or on a older upgrade. So please search for the post "upgrade from 3.20.09" and you find it.
  2. If this issue caused by a post after a time out this is also handled serveral times in this forum.  Go to "My Settings" subscript to all Forum Notification and save.  Try to post, and unsubscript.

Re: Post and rights errors

Thanks for the reply. Step #2 in your post fixed my new thread error, but the permission check boxes are still grayed out/disabled on the forum admin page for any forum.

Re: Post and rights errors

About the use and setting I suggest to read the usermanual for version 4.4.4 you can downloade from this site. Check the project download page on FORGE | Module::Forums | Project Downloads.

Noises like wrong Module permission settings.
