Attachments in Forums

Hello,

one Question about the Attachment Function in a forum. If i have enabled the Attachment function i can only select a file position on the server ??

Is this correct ?

I want to give my users the possibility to add a file from her own pc, i mean upload a file to my server.

Sorry for the bad english, but have youunderstand what i mean ?

Matthias

Re: Attachments in Forums

Hi Matthias,

about your first name I think you speak german so you can also ask in the german usergroup on www.dnn-usergroup.de .  I hope the english Forum manual helps you to came familar with the forum features.  You can get it from the Forge | Project: Forum | Porject Downloads page.

About your problem with the folders you have to give the roles who may have permission to upload files write permission to a folder over the File Manager.  The Forum module uses the file manager for uploading files, so you have to make the permission settings in the File Manager.

Greating from Germany

Well it is for me.  Sorry that I answered in english, but it is a conditon for this page.

This is the link to the Forum Project Download Page http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/Forge/ModuleForums/Downloads/tabid/823/Default.aspx

Finding the Module Project Pages

To finding a Project page click on the Forge button on the top of the page.  You  will find on the left a list of all Module Projects.  Click on the Module you searched about.  On the left you found some other sub pages to the Module i.e. the Project download section where the project teams uploading Documentaion, Manuals and other stuff.
