embedding video in forums

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any information on why, when I try to embed a utube video in the forums using fckeditor, that it previews fine but when I hit update, all the embeded code disappears leaving only the text that I typed in?

If I embed the video in a normal text/html module outside the forum, it works fine.

Is this a restriction of the forum or a setting in fck?

I've attempted to embed my video into this forum as a test. It previews fine but if the video is not showing when posted the we know it's something to do with the forum right? Thanks for any information on this. Robert... raintowers.com

Re: embedding video in forums

The security filter in the core has changed, this is something I noticed in a 4.5.3 install as of this past Friday. We would have to ask the core to change this, I will bring it up w/ Cathal.

Re: embedding video in forums

Ah! Excellent!

I'll eagerly be awaiting for this. I want my forum members to be able to post/embed video in their messages for advertising.

I'm wondering if this exsited in previous versions? I would install an older version for now to build and test until, or if, the core change is accepted.

Thank you.

Robert.

Re: embedding video in forums

HI, I would like a solution for this also.

I would like to post embedded videos from you tube.

The strange thing is that I can see the embedded object in the preview, but when I save the post the object/embed tag is removed

Any ideas?

Thanks
