Hello,

Could someone shed some light on how  to go about letting users attach files and/or pictues?  The permission in the forum Admin is set up correctly, the problem is with the default folder.  What is the default folder?  The root?  Can that be changed?  Also, is there a way, to have just the explorer window pop up, where the user can choose the file they want to include, then click upload and that's all?  So instead of going through "Browse the Server", just let the user browse his own computer and add the file?  Any advice is much appreciated.

I agree.  I'm no super user, but I can't see why it should be so hard to let the users browse their own machine when uploading. Please let me know if there's somthing that I've missed...

Re: Attachments

Hi,

I am having the exact same problem - when i allow users to attach - and they hit attach file it gets them the server rather than their local machine. In the link below it shows how to fix it. but i think this is for older version and i am on a newer one- fo rme i can only see ENABLE field and not the other fields to show where it should store files. if any one figures out let me know thank you

Infact even on the window where i am typing i hit attach image and it takes me to the server - this is wierd - but my repositor module works fine

Re: Attachments

After the user selects a file location folder that they have write access to, an Upload new file option becomes visible. I agree, it would be handy to have a default folder for a particular forum/group set somewhere in the admin settings that sets the initial value for the file location.

In fact it's essential - I don't want users changing the default location, nor do I want them to be able to browse files already uploaded.

Chris - any idea about a change for this?
