Forum Notification Bug fix? when is 4.4.4 going to be released?

Hello,

The notification feature of the forum (one of the key features to keep an active community on a website forum!) has not been working for months.

It is my understanding that this bug was introduced with the the release of 4.4.3 (sometime in late 2007).

At the begining of March I was told that this fix was on the way shortly with the release of 4.4.4. Is there any status update on this release?

Is it possible to get a minor release with just the notification bug fix? This is an extremely important feature as it automatically generates traffic back to your site, without people having to manually remember to check your forum. I would say this is a critical bug.

You have probably noticed it on this forum. I have to remember to login to the site, go to the forums, click on my posts and then I can see if someone responded.

Please let me know what the timeline is for a fix so I can let my clients know. It is not very comforting when I can not give them a simple answer for this important feature.

Thank you,
--Steven
