I'm glad that I wasn't dreaming, and that this was a real problem.  Repeating my message from above:

I just experienced a problem using the term HOST_A*L*E*R*T (without the *'s, obviously) in another thread.  The editor seems to strip all my content following the word "A*L*E*R*T."  I assume this has to do with the stripping of a potential javascript a*l*e*r*t call, but here I am doing nothing of the sort.

Is this a known problem with the editor, or am I doing something silly?

Brandon

Edit: Took me several edits to mask all the uses of the term "a*l*e*r*t."  Argh!

Re: similar problem

I'm assuming that this is an unknown issue, since there have been no responses?

As far as I'm aware it is aknown issue, it certainly come up on the wiki project too. unless you break the word alert apart it will strip every thing until the next quotes.
Not sure how people are getting on with fixing it though.
A workaround I've taken to using from anothers suggestion is to break ...

oh the irony... another well known bbug is not allowing me to show the example fix... well replace square brackets with trianagular in this example and you have got the idea: alert
