is it possible to add an avatar / icon image next to user's name?

On the forum module, is it possible to add an avatar / icon image next to user's name?

currently their is a pc image where i would like to display an image / avatar- which says 'user is not online' - upon rollover.

Re: is it possible to add an avatar / icon image next to user's name?

The image left the username is a online/offline image.  It can be changed by the template.  But the Forum have a user and system avatar integreated look at the Forum Administration.  Read the usermanual you can get from the Project downloadpage on Forge!

Re: is it possible to add an avatar / icon image next to user's name?

thanks,

I am running 4.3.3 Forum.
There only seems to be version 4.4.4 or 3.20.01 documentation.

from the gist of both manuals - it looks like I should go to gallery and emoticons >> but all the options for Avatar Gallery are greyed out and unavailable.

Message reads:
"Gallery module contains system avatars, requires Gallery implemented
"

Anyone know how to implement the gallery?

Use the manual for 4.4.4 its only something in a little other design.  You have first go to the Avatar Manager in Forum admin and save your settings. Then you have accept avatar in the generall setting. If you can not access the Avatar Manager or they setting there was any thing wrong on your installation or upgrade.

Re: is it possible to add an avatar / icon image next to user's name?

Sorry but I made a mistake: I am running forum 3.20.09 (on dnn 4.3.3).

I presume I must either upgrade to 4.3.3 forum or install the gallery module because according to the Forum documentation it says:

"Without gallery installed, you cannot use avatars, local images in add posts section, or emoticons. If you do not have gallery installed, the gallery wizard icon will be disabled as well as the drop down lists and checkboxes on this page "

RE: upgrade to 4.3.3 - i don't want to lose all my content inside the forum, is it straightforward performing an upgrade?

regards,

mark.
