how do i get dotnetnuke database created 

I downloaded dotnetnuke code and set it up in local webserver. when i run the application

http://localhost/dotnetnuke - it tries to install dotnetnuke - but throws me an error couldnot connect to database.

I didnt have dotnetnuke database created in my sqlserver. Any instructions to create the same. Where can i locate the step by step instruction document(if any).

Any help will be greatful.

There are items for documentation in the documentation folder of your download.  You need to create a database on sqlserver for your dotnetnuke install.  You then will have to modify your connection string in the web.config file with the appropriate information to connect to your database.
