Bug in Timezone Calculation

I am having an issue with the time displayed on the Blog module.

My server resides in the Easter timezone (EDT).  My main bloggers are in the Central timezone (CDT).  I am in the Mountain Timezone (MDT).

The CDT blogger posts a blog at 2pm CDT.  The database shows the post as showing up at 3pm EDT, which is what I would expect since the server sits in that timezone.

However, once the blogger goes back to his post, he sees it listed as 9am.  I am in the mountain timezone and see it as 8am.  The timezones in general seem to be off by a factor of 5 hours across the board.

Am I missing a setting or is this a bug?  The portal timezone is set for CDT and the blogger's timezone is set for CDT as well.

Thanks!

Re: Bug in Timezone Calculation

The Blog module is being deprecated as it had very little interest.  I do not remember seeing this issue but that doesn't mean it didn't exist.  As of the next forums release, Blog will not be included.

That being said, I am sorry you are having issues but since there will be no fix released I feel that investigating the error would be a waste of my time.  If it is very important, please post back and I will consider looking into it.

Re: Bug in Timezone Calculation

I guess I can migrate the blog stuff over to a forum type setting.  I'll see how that goes and let you know.

I'm not set on the actual "blog" anyway, since a forum can be used to accomplish the same thing.

Re: Bug in Timezone Calculation
You can also use the "News" (or is it "Articles"?) core module as a blog. One of them allows comments. The biggest thing you'll miss is trackbacks (incoming and outgoing).

One day when I have enough time I'll look into converting my free blog app into a DNN module.
