[TREEVIEW] and Populate on demand

Is there a possibility to switch on "populate on demand" for the DNN:Treeview  Skin object?

forms & Lists (UDT5.0) will be the next major release of the User Defined Table project.
A first Preview is available, though it requires DotnetNuke 5 (Beta 5).

Yes, set the PopulateNodesFromClient property to true and ExpandDepth to 1 (or however many levels you want to expand by default)

PopulateNodesFromClient

="true" ExpandDepth="1"

This document provides a little more insight as to what is possible.

Re: [TREEVIEW] and Populate on demand

Thank you Jon,

Populate on demand works, however the treeview is acting different as before, but maybe I am just missing an other setting.

I want to show always all nodes that are direct children of the selected node, which is the default behaviour if PopuladeNodesFromClient is disabled.  My tree has a max depth from 4. If I set the Expand Depth to 4, it works, but this loads the complete tree again.

The level is set to root.

Not sure on this...  the document I mentioned posts all the supported ways the level works.  Sounds like you want it to always be expanded.

Re: [TREEVIEW] and Populate on demand

I think I tried all supported ways.

I want that a click  on a node to expend all direct children - this is the default behaviour for the tree for example in the dnn-blue-vertical skins. I can't educate people to click on the [+] symbol in front of the node.

I monitored that my site loads about 5 times faster with PopulateNodesFromClient enabled and an expanddepth of 1, so a change here or a new mode would be of great value.

I added an enhancement request (7768)
