dnn is not defined error
Hi Jon,

I'm trying to use the client api functions to set and get cookies instead of rolling my own. Everything works as planned unless the container is hidden. Actually, there are no visible containers on the page. In this case I get the javascript error 'dnn is not defined'. Isn't the client api included for every page regardless of containers?

It's easy for me to include my own version of get/set cookie but I was hoping to use the dnn native versions of these.

Re: dnn is not defined error

the clientapi scripts will only be loaded when they are determined they are needed.  You can register them by calling the RegisterClientReference method.  In your case, if you don't have a module but are setting a cookie, I'd ask how is your script being added to the page.  Is it part of your skin?  You could register the client reference in your skin either by calling that method.

Or you could simply add a script src=".../js/dnn.js">, though this may result in two dnn.js files getting registered... which shouldn't hurt.

Re: dnn is not defined error
Ok, I got it now. Thanks for the refresher. It's been a bad day, can't you tell :)

One more question.

Is there anyway to turn off the drag and drop positioning without turning off the entire clientapi. I noticed a web.config entry but that seems to turn off everything.

Re: dnn is not defined error
Not that I am aware of...  I'm sure there is some script that could be written to cripple the functionality...  not sure why you would want to do this though...
