How to add a GridView control in a tabstrip tab?

I tried to drag a GridView control from Toolbox and drop it in the source (cannot drop it on the design view) of a tabstrip tab and the code was like:

<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server">
</asp:GridView>

When I switched back to desgin view I couldn't see anything. However the DropDownList works just fine.

So is it allowed to have a GridView control in a tabstrip tab? And if it is then how I can do that?

Thanks!

Re: How to add a GridView control in a tabstrip tab?

Sounds like your asking if the designer supports the gridview in the tabstrip.  I am assuming you have no problem getting the gridview itself to work during runtime?

Re: How to add a GridView control in a tabstrip tab?

Hi Jon,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it doesn't work on runtime either. It seems like tabstrip tab completely ignores the gridview control. But some other controls such as DropDownList and Calendar work fine.

Thanks,

Brent

Re: How to add a GridView control in a tabstrip tab?

What render mode are you using on the tabstrip?  All?

Also, are you binding the grid?  Make sure it renders something when it is placed outside the tabstrip first.
