How to localize Lists in DNN like the timezone ?

Hi,

I was wondering today how is the timezone exactly localized and where can i find the code for it in DNN i've searched the admin user module and the controls in DNN but didn't find anything. where are we getting this list from? is it from the OS we're working on? And how can exactly localize Lists in DNN? Is there any free or commercial modules that allow you to accomplish the task?

Thank You,

Mazen.

Re: How to localize Lists in DNN like the timezone ?

Hi Mazen,

The file containing the TimeZones list is called TimeZones.xml and is stored inside the <RootDir>\App_GlobalResources folder.

If you have another locale different from en-US, then the file should be called TimeZones.[locale].xml, for example, for Mexico, it would be TimeZones.es-MX.xml.

Please note that the corresponding locale should be enabled and a proper Language Pack should have been installed in order to use that TimeZones file.

Saludos,

Alejandro.

Re: How to localize Lists in DNN like the timezone ?

you can localize time zone captions by editing the list in Host :: Languages, selecting the appropriate command. you should be careful with modifying XML file and especially keys.
