Default language for portal aliases

Hi,

I've got a customer who has a rather large portal set up, complete with localization from apollo-software etc. The site works great, we've built a special language selector, everything rolls.

However, we have two aliases pointing to this portal, one www.sitename.no and one www.sitename.se. And while default language detection based on browser preferences works great, we were wondering if it's possible to automatically select Norwegian if the user types in the no domain name, and Swedish if it's .se.

Haven't found anything so far, I think we're running 4.4.1 though.

Thankful for any answers,
Mats

Re: Default language for portal aliases

I don't know of a way to do this, I think you'd have to get into the Core code for DNN and make some modifications to handle this. You might check with Erik though and see if he has any thoughts on this, from Apollo.

Re: Default language for portal aliases

Mats,

I suggest to setup the additional portals like child portals as a separate website, which redirects to your original website, but additionally add a locale to the URL (identical as done with the Language Switcher, this will however require to upgrade to DotNetNuke 4.7.0
