Page Title and URL's

Hi there,

one of the major problems for me with localization is the fact that DNN (when using friendly urls) uses the page title to build the URL.

So if I have a page like "Definições de Utilizador" (portuguese text for User Definitions") the url is messed up by the characters with accents.

Could it be a solution to have to possibility of choosing a Title for the page in the portal and another for the url?

How do you guys deal with this?

Thanks in advance

Re: Page Title and URL's

there  is an option in web.config to exclude page names in the URL.

Re: Page Title and URL's

Thanks for the reply Leupold. That's nice but using it makes one lose the human friendly urls feature. Any other hack?

Re: Page Title and URL's

either remove the page names from the URL or do not use special characters in your page title - I do not see another option.

Re: Page Title and URL's

Hi,

for some unknown reason and completely by chance I got this url correct: http://www.medinvest.lu/Evénements/tabid/124/Default.aspx

On the other hand all the others which carry accents in the url (as in the home page) as messed up. It'd be nice to know what is behind...
